The AUTOPROTECTION project is based on work carried out within the French Maritime Cluster, which brought together all stakeholders involved in piracy: shipowners, Navy, insurers, manufacturers, safety organizations, experts in a workgroup.
This group concluded that the need to achieve a life-size demonstrator, able to demonstrate the capabilities of the equipment proposed by French manufacturers.
This group is representative of the sector, remains active and allows the consortium to have a strong link with the maritime world and its contractors and payers.
2009: Working group creation to develop synergy team work within the CMF
2010: Dialogue between industrials, in the GICAN infrastructures, to define a comprehensive range of equipment satisfying the needs expressed
2011: Constitution under the SAGEM auspices of AUTOPROTECTION consortium, comprising industrials and French institutions, to achieve a demonstrator combining technologies and partner expertise.
